Can't connect to my own server.
#1
Ok heres my problem, Ive tryed setting up a server using:
C:\srcds\srcds.exe -console -game cstrike -tickrate 66 +map gg_aim_shotty -maxplayers 16 -port 27015 -autoupdate

It shows up in the counter strike server list but i cannot join it, nor can anyone else. Its responding and i can join it using my internal ip and the connect command. I told my friends to join using the connect command and my ip and port 27015, It worked but after a few games and my dynamic ip kept changing due to dropouts no one had been able to connect.

I have mattie eventscripts running with gungame 5 mod, and im running windows 7.

I have forwarded posts:

UDP 27000-27015
UDP 1200
UDP 27020
TCP 27030-27039
TCP 27015

I have also tryed DMZ mode, and have still had no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated Wink,
Thank you.

I would recommend turning off your firewall to make sure that is not the problem.

Also for forwarding ports, I would recommend forwarding 27000-27040 UDP/TCP.

done that, and still no luck. Also now when i tell people to join through my ext ip it works and for some reason some people can connect to my server through the server list, but others cant... Any ideas on how to fix?

If some people can join it means its working. It's not half on and half off the list, it's either there or not there.
It does happen (depending on geo location) that some servers simply won't show for some people.

IF your hosting it on your own computer try to connect to 127.0.0.1 or check in the LAN section of steam to see if its there.

Just go to your server browser and click on the LAN tab, located between spectate and friends.
If everything is done right, you should see it there.

If that doesn't work, open console and type

Code:
connect 127.0.0.1

You can try changing your launch option settings in put the command "+clientport 270XX". I forget what's the default port that players join, but changing it will help you connect to your server. I've always done it this way whenever I run my srcds to test stuff on the same computer I am playing on.

To access launch options for that game or any other game, just open the steam menu and right click the game. Click properties, look for the general tab, and click the set lanuch options. Input the command "+clientport 27030" (without the "") or something like that. I use 27032 and it works fine.

Try avoiding numbers which the srcds servers use.
