Cannot get over 700FPS
#1
I'm running a system with windows server 2008, and the only thing different than this server with my other ones is that its an IBM x366 server.

I'm having issues with getting over 700 FPS, the only intervals of gameserver FPS that I can get are 10, 128, 340, or 700.

No FPS Max Command gave me 227
fps_max 0 gave me 10FPS
fps_max 128 gave me 128FPS
fps_max 500 gave me 340FPS
fps_max 700 gave me 340FPS
fps_max 1000 gave me 700FPS

Anybody have any explanation of these weird values? The only thing that I can think of is that the motherboard cant support higher rates...

On other systems I get intervals of 64, 128, 256, 512 and 1024.

What does fps_max 0 do for you?

Run a FPS booster.

I am running an fps booster on both systems.

fps_max 0 produces 10 on the problem system
fps_max 0 produces 512 on a windows xp pro system
fps_max 0 produces 330 on a stock centos install.

CentOS 64bit install runs 333fps by default, and I myself am currently trying to figure out how to make it run 1000. Toungue

Yes, but this is about windows OS's at the moment, any idea why a server with server 2008 is running at max 691 - 703 FPS?

You need HPET enabled in the BIOS to run 1000 fps on windows 2008. Then of course the media timer.

Ask your host or if you have access, get that enabled and you will be good.

fps_max 0

Is the proper setting.

Yes, you will not get 1000fps if you do not have HPET enabled. If your motherboard does not support HPET, than you are stuck at the fps your at now.

But why not a perfect 500fps, I would think that HPET wouldn't let you run past 500, or 700, but it wouldn't cause such a weird issue in the values of FPS when the commands are run. I would think that it wouldn't go past a certain number.

I had Windows Server 2008 32bit a while ago.

I ran 1000fps.

With: fps_max 0
Not modified motherboard.
And MetaMod: Source based FTP booster.

Alright, its probably just this motherboard, its an old IBM x366 server with Quad XeonMP Processors. 3.16GHz Hyper threaded, but a little Q8200 has it beat hah.

Yea, my other 08 machines run 1000fps just fine out of the box... Generally most motherboards have HPET enabled by default...
