Problem with connection
#1
Hi there, I have a slight problem. srcds wont make the jump from lan to wan. On top of that I can use the steam dedicated server with no problems (it is on the master server list and everything), and have tried installing srcds a number of different ways and times to try and diagnose the problem. To add to this I dont even have a router or a firewall....

anyone have any ideas?

-Thanks in advance!Smile

Is your computer directly at the External IP Address? (http://www.whatismyip.com)
or do you have an Internal IP address, something like 192.xx.xx.xx or 10.xx.xxx.xx?

Hi,

"132.198.192.163" = "ISP University of Vermont"

Your University is likely blocking the ports, or something else. Most schools have been locking down on their internet, and its only to be expected with how many people believe they can host whatever they want on them.

I see two options here, either talk to the network administrator and see what the deal is or pay for your own internet connection.

Or make a stealer and infect a computer that had signed in to the router IP with the same IP, then log in and go into firewall settings and port forward 27000 - 27050 TCP UDP along with 1200 (or is it 1300? idk) TCP UDP. Good luck.

Hacking is never an option, Retality, you're talking a good talk to the police and possibly the FBI for messing with an institution like the University of Vermont...

Hey, I suppose you're a computer science student and this was part of your homework assignment or stuff. If so than from My Assignment Lab you can get your homework done for you. Server technology I think is not a huge problem for experienced professionals and expect getting assisted in a matter of hours.
