Creeping cpu usage
#1
I am running counter strike gungame5 with gungameutils, eventscripts and mani admin mod. Server does run fine for about maybe a few days. But eventually the cpu usage creeps up till eventually it hits 100%. I dont know if this is like a memory leak or something. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be? Or if this behaviour is normal? My server isn't to powerfull but I dont think it should be behaving like this.

Link to my cpu usage graphs:
http://lunik.co.uk/mrtg/server.cpu.html

System specs:
Debian Etch 32bit
1.2Ghz Intel Celeron
1Gb of RAM
gcc (GCC) 4.1.2 20061115 (prerelease) (Debian 4.1.1-21)
ldd (GNU libc) 2.3.6

Startup command:
./srcds_run -console -game cstrike -secure -autoupdate -port 27015 +maxplayers 16 +map gg_fast -tickrate 66 +fps_max 0

Thanks in advance.

well I have kind of solved this problem my making a daily cronjob that checks if there are no players and if not reboots the server.
seems a bit inelegant to me. does srcds natively suffer from this kind of memory leakage or is it some mod I am running ?
Does anyone know of a way I could debug this?

1.2 ghz celeron isn't gunna cut it bud. Make that 33 tick, and hopefully it should be okay.

You should restart the game servers (not the whole root) every night or so. I have similar problems on a much better cpu ;-)

I know a 1.2ghz cpu isn't too powerful. but it runs fine as it is.
the only problem is this steadily increasing cpu usage.
the server doesn't even become to laggy.
i suppose daily restarts are the solution then but this kind of behaviour seems to indicate to me some sort of problem within the srcds code or a mod im running.
