CSS server - slots?
#1
I'm setting up a few CSS servers but I dunno how many slots I can get out. How many slots can I get out with these specifications? 100 tickrate or 66

Specifications:
100 mbit upload and download speed
2 x Intel Xeon 2.4GHz (not 2 cores, it's two CPUs)
3GB DDR2 RAM
2 x 32GB SCSI HDD (10k RPM)
2 x 9GB SCSI HDD (10k RPM)

I don't know about your bandwidth because even though your internet connection is 100mbit, it doesn't mean that's your upload/download.

Atleast 8 servers though, if the connection is alright...

Beaver can go into the tick and what games detail...
But I can say atleast 8 servers for CSS with 16 slot 100 tick...

ATLEAST.

(I hope I'm around the close amount ? Big Grin )

Each Xeon only has one core?
Those must be quite old...

Please do not PM me for server related help

Yeah, each Xeon has one core. The server was purchased two years ago.
I need a more exact amount than St1flus answer, I don't think that is reliable.

Okay, so...just for clarification... A Xeon (Lets say Intel Dual Xeon (Harpertown)) has 1 or 2 processors (2 for the Dual Xeons) and 4 or 8 cores. : - )

30 slots @100tickrate on each processor so 60 total.

crust, this looks like one of the P4 Xeons, they don't have multiple cores, they have Hyperthreading.

I have one of those old xeons, you can check by running CPU-Z and seeing how many threads to processors there are.
