Steam/Valve Games

I just finished Half-Life the other day, and HL2 a few minutes ago, and want to but Episode 1 and 2. I might buy the Orangebox Pack, but I already have TF2, so what will happen with that? Can I give it to a friend? Or will it just not give me credit for it at all?
