its the same thing as enterprise and all the others tbh, a lot of GSP's even do it because its cheaper and disabling IIS = same thing.

is it in the conditions of use that you cant host certain things?

nah, you can host whatever on most dedicated as long as it isn't a botnet, etc, they state pretty clearly what you can and cant do, pretty sure any application that doesn't cause harm to the network is k

For the most part, 32-bit is fine since it will support over 4GB of ram given the correct hardware.

Wrong. 32bit OSs can't support 3.5GB+ of RAM, period. They're not written for it. "Right hardware" can't make it magically support more than that, as the OS just won't be able to use the rest.

Win7 is quite stable - more so than Vista in my experience. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to run a server off of Win7, aside from the lack of other server features.

Anyways, I thought HPET could be easily enabled/disabled in the BIOS?

HPET is indeed enabled/disabled easily in the bios and even most datacenter techs can enable it for you if the cpu/board supports it.

anyways, running win 2k8 web 64bit atm and got my servers running 1000fps 40slot 66tick pubs flawlessly

Actually it is in Microsoft's EULA that you can NOT use Windows Server Web Edition for any thing other than web applications. But that's only if you want to get real technical.

Sure it is Computer Helper haha. Although I don't mind throwing the blame at MAC.
Anyways... although a 32bit OS will recognize up to 4gb of RAM, it doesn't always mean it's using it. Bottom Line : if you have 4gb of RAM (or more) in your system, and you want to take full advantage of it, start using a 64bit OS.
I know a lot of people still use Server 2008 web edition, I'm just saying, I believed it was against the EULA, however your right, the DC's won't care if it doesn't affect their network.
