Game Panel for my new hosting company - what should it have?
#1
Well, since im a very noisy person you might have noticed im setting up a game hosting company called Kuritech Game Servers.

Now, I prefer to write software like this myself than pay a license for something im un-sure of. I'm fully capable of doing the backend coding (although the final product won't be the greatest aesthetically), and im just thinking what i need/want to have in it.

Heres what I am absolutely definately going to include:

-An automatic sourcemod installer (which just copies a pre-configured install including metamod from somewhere else on the server).
-Simple tools for editing important configs such as server.cfg, autoexec.cfg and the ability to write new ones i.e. 2fort.cfg and so on.
-Some simple tools for delivering RCON commands and informing of server status.

What else do you think should be included? Personally ive never had a server from one of the bigger hosting companies so i don't know what they have but if someone here does i would be highly interested in seeing it. Even it was in the form of screenshots.

So, any ideas anyone?

Cheers, Adam

Also, moniter server status for admins, like cpu usage all those good stuff.
and also allow the clients to reinstall servers, restart and stop.
That is just my 1cent

Well I don't think CPU monitoring and such is too important, I'll be handling that and keeping a close eye on it anyway. Smile

But ye, the re-install, start stop, etc,,

I was going to include that, just forgot to mention there.

Cheers for the 1 cents though. Smile

I would be VERY interested to see that. Personally mines will be a very "made for purpose" affair and will not be particularly portable but when it is finnished, i will happily let anyone see the code.

When picking a Control Panel, you want an easy, yet powerful control panel. One that will let you do what you want to do, such as one click mod installs, support, logs, etc. TCAdmin is a great panel, but again cost money as well. You can code one yourself, but again people want an easy to use/manage control panel. Keep that in thought when coding one yourself.
