I keep getting this message in my srcds console..
I keep getting it for over a week now..

It seems to block some people from connecting Sad

Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

It seems I have solved the problem by using the HLDSUpdateTool..

However, I'm not sure, since it was 5 minutes ago since I ran it.. Please leave this topic open for feedback.

I deleted it yesterday, but since 5 minutes ago, the errors are back..

I've seen it on cracked servers. Maybe you have cracked server or cracked clients try to join your normal server.

Don't mind it. It's nothing - unless you want those players to be able to join.

Don't mind it. It's nothing - unless you want those players to be able to join.

I have this error to. Just ignore it.

What is a 'cracked' server?
SRCDS is free (afaik), so then.. what is cracked?

Anyway.. Afaik, my srcds is NOT cracked.

But I'd really like the error to go away.. I need people to join my server. Some people are able to, some get an error first, and need to reconnect Sad

As i know, a 'cracked' server is a nonsteam version of srcds. If 'cracked' clients are joining (because they are using a nonsteam version of counter-strike), they won't be able to join because theres no steam id to validate

Okay, so thanks for explaining..

I haven't been using a cracked version. First I installed SRCDS via Steam (I have bought CSS), and then I ran HLDSUpdateTool from the SteamPowered website.

Also, I am so frequently getting the error, that I can't imagine it can only be people with a cracked version. Even so, I did not had this problem until a week ago..

Well steam isn't always running as it should. If possible, could you please tell me if the server says "Connection to Steam servers successfull" when starting it?

Okay... So it has connection to the steam servers... There has been another issue which was started about a week ago (A2C_PRINT error), so it shouldn't bother me if steam also screwed that up. How are your ports forwarded?

No I'm not really sure what you want to know..

I forwarded port 27015 TCP/UDP to my internal IP (which is static)..

Please paste your server config, and then a screen shot of the start up of the game server and the error you're getting.

From a little googling of "ESteamError 25" I found that users fixed the problem by reinstalling their server Or deleting everything but the bin and hl2 folders and reupdating.

You don't need a screenshot of the error, since I already gave it to you (it's the exact message). Even if I wanted to, the error isn't coming up right now, since no one is joining atm.

PS. I'm not going to reinstall / delete my server. That is simply not an option. Every problem has a solution. So this one has too Wink

Don't take it the wrong way, but it's just not the solution, and definitely not worth it..
