Server OS: windows server 2008
Processor: Intel® Xeon™ e5410 2.4ghz quadcore
Game(s): Counter-Strike Source
Start Up Command: -game cstrike -console -tickrate 100 +ip ******** -port 27035 +maxplayers 16 +exec server.cfg +map aim_ag_texture_city
Admin Mods: Only mani_admin_plugin hotfix. I tried unloading it and still had problem!
Other: 500 fps and 100 tick server.
Hi I own a large popular aim_ag_texture_city server (counter-strike source) and since we got it, we always have had this one problem. I finally figured out what was causing it and now I want to know if there is a way to fix it.
Basically when my server gets full 8/16 or more the tick drops, on the texture_city and we get choke.
I filled my server to 16/16 and it still happened. By accident I switched the map to de_dust 2, the 16/16 people still stayed and played. I then noticed the tickrate stayed stable at 101. Never dropping and 0 choke. Either aim_ag_texture_city is causing this or maybe dev_textures (texture used on map) is causing the tick to go up and down and choke.
Note: The map is 24/7 we don't wanna change it.
I have been on multiple servers and they experience the same problem. This isn't just me either. Everyone else see's it and our rates are fine.
So if anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated. I want the tick stable for optimal performance, this box is rented.
