Instead of paying out for a high speed internet connection, why don't you rent game servers? You will never be able to get the same quality with a home connection compared to a data centre hosted server.

If you currently pay $50 for a home connection, switching to a business connection that is of 100mbps will cost ALOT more than your current connection + 10 gameservers.

Not really. Also, you have to remember, quality is not cheap.

If you're in NJ I would highly recommend taking advantage of nearby colocation services. With some of the cheaper places ( Scranton PA especially ) you can colocate a computer tower for $50 / Month with 100Mbps up / down
The only other thing I can think of would be something like Metro Ethernet or Metro Fiber from a local T2 facility or something. But those would cost you 1000's / Month.
Looking for a game server? Visit
fullfrag.com and pick one up as low as $2.50 / mo!

You mean you have a network of 100mbps. And yes cat6 is capable of 1000mbps, however I HIGHLY doubt you have 1gbps internet, so no you can't go to 1000mbps. And the "smooth" online gameplay difference between cat5 and cat6 is again highly debatable.

That's a spammer Ryan...

It's almost comical how they try to spam. They are getting smarter though :/
