I was wondering how these work?
Are they installed on the actual game servers or on the web server?
I've been approached with a few windows boxes for game servers and a Linux box for the website.

Usually there's a web part and a server part.
The web part is simply the interface that connects to a program running on the server that can control processes, read/write files etc. to configure, start and stop a server.
