RE: High tickrate and rate SRCDS FAQ
You have to keep the computer running. to add sounds to that menu option add them to the soundlist.txt file.

RE: High tickrate and rate SRCDS FAQ
hi all.
First off I read and used the rates for 100 tic 20 man server.. omg..
I have had nothing but problems with this server with rates and small lag issues.
I am wondering what I can do to get the rates right..
my loss is 1-4 my choke is 0-15 sometimes 30, like at round start.
this is what I have for my server rates etc.

Is there anything you see that is playing a factor?
I have HLStatsX, Mugmod, eBank, Counter-Bet, es-tools, Source MM, Mani Mod. Hosted through Counter-Strike.com
I could really use some help here. I am just about ready to pull my hair out. Thanks so much for your time and dedication.

Too many plugins/mods
Also, read the HLDS mailing lists, everybody is complaining of performance issues.
My guide is not really accurate in terms of CPU performance anymore.

RE: High tickrate and rate SRCDS FAQ
You're thread has been very helpful for myself and many others. However, I have a quick question for the more experienced group of you. I'm running a small dev server to test my friend's add-ons and such. Would upping any of these values benefit my server? My stats are as follows:
Intel Xeon 3 GHz Duel Core
2 GB Ram
1Mb/256Kb Internet Connection (don't laugh, dsl sucks)
sv_maxrate 8000
sv_minrate 5000
sv_maxupdaterate 30
sv_minupdaterate 13
sv_unlag 1
sv_maxunlag .5
Since I can't increase sv_maxrate because of my slow connection, would increasing sv_maxupdaterate or tickrate benefit me at all? I also will have a 1mb upload connection hopefully soon, so comment on the same values for that too. Keep in mind that CPU/Memory usage is not a problem at all. Thanks!

RE: High tickrate and rate SRCDS FAQ
What is acceptable for sv_maxrate?
specs:
3.2 P4 HT
1GB of ram
1024 kb up
According to your guide if I wanted 14 people I would be just under 9000 for the sv_maxrate. Will this still provide a great playing experience?
More so since I am running 9000 will I still see benefit if I run a 66 tick rate? Does increasing the tick rate require more bandwidth?
