I dont hear the Quake sounds
#1
Hello guys.
I have read many guides here on the forums but I still can't hear my quake sounds. I see firstblood on my screen but I can't hear it.
I have put mani sound download to 1.

Can anyone please help me

edit: Forgot to say that I have also put exec mani_quake_sounds.cfg in my mani_server.cfg

Make sure your mani_quake_sounds.cfg is edited to your configuration, and that the appropriate sounds are on the server and listed in the correct files.

What do you mean edited to your configuration?
I am a little lost here

You have to make sure the sound files are in the correct folders and that those directory links are exactly the same as you have in the cfg's.

I've had this prob. If you are using custom quake sounds then you must make sure they are the right format. For some reason Source only plays audio of one kind of say and mp3 file. For this, I open a working Quake audio file in a program called Cool Edit Pro as well as the audio file you want to get working. Then, in the file editor, I copy and paste your audio over into the working file then save. Works for me.

do you use zblock? zblock removes quake sounds

- If you have zBlock remove it. (If NECESSARY, I believe there are workarounds)

- Set 'sv_pure 0' in your server.cfg

- Add 'exec mani_quake_sounds.cfg' to the end of your server.cfg

- In your cfg folder, open the mani_quake_sounds.cfg, and make sure it is enabled. You're given the option to enable and disable the sounds by entering a 1 or a 0.

- Turn your speakers on

- Should be good to go Smile

Also did you type cl_downloadfilter all in your own console?(In-game console?)

Do you use any non-standard config?

look in console, is it saying anything regarding missing sound file? just checking to make sure you have all the sound files in there properly.
