overpriced, if you want a higher end xeon go with the 5420. 5420 probably 160 66 tick slots or more, the 5472 doesn't get you enough more to make it worth the cost.

The xeons are real, quality CPU's. The reason they cost so much is due to (unfortunately) low demand. For this kind of purpose they are really are worth the extra-cash.

You want to find the best price/performance ratio, and with servers thats a very fuzzy line.
