Wrong Latency in-game! [CSS-SRCDS]
#1
Exclamation
Hello there!

I'm currently hosting a few servers for my friends to play mix and pcw's on.
The server is however 100tick and running perfectly with..

Code:
IN: ~101/s
OUT: ~ 101/s

Which seems perfect to me.
The server.cfg is using following:

Code:
Server Tickrate: 100

zBlock Status (1): Ok

Important Server Cvars:
sv_cheats: 0
sv_pure: 2
sv_consistency: 1
tv_delay: 90

Server Net Settings:
sv_unlag 1          sv_max_unlag .5
sv_minrate 2500      sv_maxrate 20000
sv_mincmdrate 61      sv_maxcmdrate 101
sv_minupdaterate 20      sv_maxupdaterate 100

And the srcds.exe startup shortcut code:
Code:
C:\Serverstuff\HLServer\BACKUP\srcds.exe -console -game cstrike -autoupdate -tickrate 100 +fps_max 600 +maxplayers 12 +port 27015 +exec server.cfg +map de_dust2

Internet connection/Speed:
10/10Mbyte

Let's get to the point of creating this topic..
EVERYONE - Gets very high latency.
This server is currently hosted in Sweden, and when Germans like anyone else joins everyone gets very very wrong latency.

Their latencys are: 80 and all the way up to 200 sometimes.

Exactly everyone is complaining about Lowrates, noobserver rates.
But it is not! It's just the friggin' Latency thing showing the wrong latency!

If someone manages to help me fix this problem, You save my whole life. heh, please help.

I'm swedish!

I'd check your actual upload connection, it doesn't show the wrong ping, it shows the actual real ping.

There are no fake pings, it's all measured by the computer Toungue

So yeah something is happening along the route where the traffic goes that makes the ping shoot up.

Uhm, how? I got a Sitecom WL-160 router, could that be the problem?
I've unlocked all ports for css.

My upload is 10Mbyte almost exact. http://bredbandskollen.se
Swedish broadband speed test.

So.. I can't see any problems. It's just weird, because when germans come play on my server they get very high ping, and when I join theirs I only get like 30 latency.

All of my friends gets 101 tickrate.

101 in 101 out.

So if the packets are send correct why is the latency showing very high? :S

Correctness of packets and latency are 2 completely different things.
I can join a 100 tickrate server in japan from europe and have it at 100tick (100/s in) but my ping will be 300+ due to the distance and hops.

WL sounds like wireless? You should never run a server over wireless network. Maybe that's the problem?
If not, there could be many things between your server and the players that can cause high latency.

yes it does have wireless, but I haven't enabled it.
hmm.. what else can be a problem? o.O
