What do you guys use for your FTP Server on your game server? When I get my dedicated I would like to have an FTP server istead of remote desktop all the time Toungue

but ftp is for transferring of files, either up or down etc... remote desktop is for full control over machine.

Yes I know, but its a lot faster to use FTP than connecting to remote desktop.

Apologies - I mis-understood the op.

I tend to use Core FTP Pro - paid for - although there is a free version available. (I only bought it because I wanted to do server-to-server transfers)

Also use Total Commander which is a File Commander with FTP built in.

Nice simple, and only switch it on when i do alot of config edits etc.

FileZilla FTP Server.
However I find it faster to download things directly to the server rather then download locally and then upload to the server :-\

Maybe you can get the forums updated now? Toungue I guess you guys are right about downloading directly to the server. Im sure there are other reasons but filezilla shows up first on google and looks nice.

The reason many people use FTP is because they don't have remote access to the server.

Yeah I have used ftp maybe twice in 4 months with my dedicated. It makes for more work as well. Sad
