SRCDS just disappears itself when I try to connect to my own server in CS:S?

No it's there I guess but I don't have the software installed to review it

also, Mooga, I'm using source dedicated server ON steam, can't find a hlupdatetool.exe anywhere?
can i type in -verify_all in the console?

Don't use the steam version for one.
Second, running and playing on the same computer is general a bad idea. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. There's nothing we can do to fix this. Some people clam that if you change your game's client port it can fix this.

My recommendation: Put the server on an external box.

Also, use SRCDS rather then the steam server.
