3,0 ghz to one server
#1
Hi mates.

I will run a 28slots server tickrate 100, i have a dedicated server with 1000mbit upline, but a baad baad cpu..i want a new one Big Grin.

will this Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3 GHz / 1333 MHz (6mb Cache) run 2 28slots cs source servers so both core's are in use.

And i have a lot of plugins on my server that take alot right now on the server.. right now i run a AMD Opteron 146 2 GHz / 128 KB L1 Cache.

and i will get 2gb RAM 2 x 1 GB (2 GB) / DUAL RAM / DDR II SDRAM / PC2-8500CL5 / 1066 MHz

will this be good for my server Smile. I guess more ghz its better than more core's because i only need to run 2 servers.

Thanks

18 slot max to 100 tick, 28 slots will be 66 tick.

And you can run 2x 28 slots on 2xP4 3,0GHz with 512MB so no worries about your hardware.

why is 18slots the highest for tickrate 100 :S, we have allways run tickrate 100 on a 24 slots, and now we get new hardware, so we think we can get up in slots Big Grin.

You most likely will not be able to hold the tickrate at 100 (which means there are tickrate drops), if you are running on the internet you're best off running 66 tickrate anyway since the performance increase from 66 to 100 tick is negligible.

the E8400 will do a very good job of keeping it near stable. If possible try and get the next CPU up with more processing power ;] should run it with ease
