Well, I'll keep it short and simple. Whenever I load up my server and want someone on my friends list to join, it says server not responding for them. So they have to goto the find servers, and locate it, which half the time they can't find it. Then, once they can find it, they can get my IP and port. The problem is, whenever they get my IP and port, it works untill i restart my server. Once I restart my server, that ending port changes. So, when I want someone to join, they have to go to the find servers and locate it in there. I just want to know, is there a way you can make it so that port doesn't change? I really don't want to keep my comp running 24/7, and I don't have a server comp I can run.
I don't use a router, although I have one. I have a direct connection to my modem.

Obviously I have to connect using my internal, so my internal IP is 10.0.1.5. That connects fine. My external IP (72.227.84.122)'s port keeps changing for my server. At one launch it might be i.e. 5406, but at a different launch it might be i.e. 4617
I use an ethernet cable that goes directly to my modem.
I havn't tried that console trick, I'll try that now and ill post my results

Code:
] status
hostname: Team SDM | Scrim/Match Server
version : 1.0.0.34/7 3264 secure
udp/ip : 10.0.1.5:27015
map : de_Dust2 at: 0 x, 0 y, 0 z
players : 1 (10 max)
# userid name uniqueid connected ping loss state
# 2 "«کÄМ»Inferno" STEAM_0:1:1100648 00:22 29 0 active
Thats what I get for it. When I give people my external IP and the 27015 port, they can't connect. It's some weird 4 digit port.

Do you have the right ports forwarded to your computer?
If the modem gives you an INTERNAL IP (10.0.*.* or 192.168.*.*) you need to forwanrd the ports from your modem/router to your computer. If you can't do this, then you can't run a server.

My server works fine, but I can't connect to my modem page (which is my ip address, as I remember).
My 'base' IP is 10.0.1.1 I put that in my URL box, and i goto it, correct?

I get an unable to connect error =/
I went into cmd.exe and typed ipconfig /all
I got my IP, so why doesn't it work when I try doing that? I could load the page on my router, but not my modem -_-

Put a picture here (or illustrate in text) how you network is set up, cause it doesn't make sense to me.
You are probably mixing up routers and modems but I'm not sure so please enlighten us.
