MasterRequestRestart - Your server is out of date.
#1
Question
I'm getting this whenever I start now: "MasterRequestRestart - Your server is out of date. Please update and restart."

I only run the server every couple of weeks, but I update every time before starting the server and I've never seen this error before today.

This is what I use to update (Windows XP command line):

Code:
c:\TF2\hldsupdatetool -command update -game tf -dir c:\TF2

I've run it several times to see if I could clear the error, but it won't go away. The results I get from re-trying the update is this:

Code:
Checking bootstrapper version ...
Updating Installation
Checking/Installing 'Team Fortress 2 Content' version 18
Checking/Installing 'Team Fortress 2 Materials' version 7
Checking/Installing 'Base Source Shared Materials' version 8
Checking/Installing 'Base Source Shared Models' version 4
Checking/Installing 'Base Source Shared Sounds' version 4
Checking/Installing 'Team Fortress 2 Dedicated Server' version 15
HLDS installation up to date

I then start the server with this:
Code:
c:\TF2\srcds.exe -console -game tf -hostport 27015 +maxplayers 24 +map cp_gravelpit
And it returns:
Code:
64.0 fps  0/24 on map     cp_gravelpit
Console initialized.
Game.dll loaded for "Team Fortress"
Particles: Missing 'particles/error.pcf'
maxplayers set to 24
maxplayers set to 24
Network: IP xx.xx.xx.xx, mode MP, dedicated Yes, ports 27015 SV / 27005 CL

Am I missing something, or did I catch the master servers at a strange time?

Thanks for any help!

Good idea, I didn't know there was a "verify all" option.

But unfortunately it didn't help. I still get the same error on launch.

Maybe I should just completely uninstall and reinstall?

Give it a shot but i wouldnt delete your old files.
It might have something to do with a new hldsupdatetool version was made. Maybe you gotta update the actually tool.

Delete "Installrecord.blob" and try again, make sure verify_all is in the command line!

Ok, I figured it out. The folder structure has changed. Maybe it was always like this, and I set it up wrong or something, but the real srcds.exe is now in the "orangebox" subfolder. That was getting updated, but not the one I had used (successfully) before today.

The successful launch command is:
Code:
C:\TF2\orangebox\srcds.exe -console -game tf -hostport 27015 +maxplayers 24 +map cp_gravelpit

Thanks for the help anyways!
