TF2 Server Issues
#1
I setup a Dedicated server on my spare machine, i was finally able to make it run, it turns out it was correctly setup just took a little bit to load all features, well i made sure i could view it on lan and both internet games through steam. worked fine, i joined Via internet games and worked out fine. i was sitting comfy in 2fort. how ever i tried to see if a couple of my friends could join and they said at first server said no responding and then when they saw it it simiply said it couldnt join.

any ideas?

Do you have port forwarding set up?

Please do not PM me for server related help

Are you giving your friends your external ip address (http://www.whatismyip.com) or are they trying to join through the friends network? you haveto give them your EXTERNAL ip, if so make sure your portforwarding is done correctly (like stated above)

I had the same issue initially and it turned out that I had forgotten to correctly forward a series of ports.

i have vonage and i played around and figured out the vonage box itself had port-forwarding, server works like a charm now.
