its in cstrike\cfg\server.cfg
you have to make the file add the like rcon_password "password here" im pretty sure thats it

do you create a cfg with notepad? and just save it as server.cfg? because i tried that and it didnt work. I have the cal.cfg on there and if i rename that at server.cfg it runs it, but i cant edit that to create an rcon password.

You can set the password in every file that's being executed at the start.
You can create a .cfg file by opening notepad and save as "myname.cfg" (INCLUDING!!! the quotes)

Yeh I noticed that 3 years ago being a mapper/modeller for an old game called C&C Renegade, you had to save files as .mix but the program didn't have the function to save like that. Seems that only thing you ahd to do was "mapname.mix" including quotes to actually save like a .mix.
That's how I found out and it works in every program, no matter what exension there normally is it will leave it out when quotes are used. I also put it in my guide so the .cfg.txt issue isn't there without people even knowing it's possible.

What you have to do with the cfg is:
Make a notepad (if the server file isnt there already)and put all of your info in there,e.g Bots_allow,etc then,go to into Windows Explorer>Tools>Folder Options>View>Then tick OFF the box "Hide Extensions For Known File Types" then with the info in the notepad,go Rename and erase the .txt that shows up and save Theres a thread about it ZMD89.....

Did you notice this problem was solved at least a year ago?
