srcds - HL2 - Custom Sound Greating when Joining
#1
Question
I recently joined a srcds HL-2 server that played a customized soundfile greating when I joined it. How do I set that up on my own source dedicated server?

Cheers,

It's a function in Mani admin plugin, if I'm right it's in sound\maniadminplugin\actions\joinserver.mp3. You can replace that by your own or change the join sound somewhere in the configuration, for detailed information please look at teh documentation of mani admin plugin at http://www.mani-admin-plugin.com

Thanks for the help Drocona, I will check it out. I looked at the mani plugin install list and it looked a little scary with all the txt files you need to make directories for. Plus the dll you have to add.

The zip contains all the files in the correct structure, when you unzip the cstrike folder into the main srcds folder it will ask you to overwrite, click yes and it'll place everything in the right place.

Thx Drocona, Yeah...I am not scared about the directories...it's what's in the txt files themselves! LOL It looked a bit overwhelming to have to look into all the txt files and see what they do on a HL-2 Server.

I spent the last 3 years playing AVP2 and designing levels (Dedit, it's a lot different than Hammer) for that game. Now I have jumped into the HL-2 world and I am working on my first deathmatch level.

It's great having some advanced knowledge about mapping, I had the same, I used to map C&C Renegade. Good luck on the level!

And on the txt, there's really only 3 files you are using, the rest is all bullshit unless you really want to go THAT specific.

(I use clients.txt weapon restrictions and mani_server.cfg Toungue)
