set sv_minrate to 10000
set sv_maxrate to 20000

see what happens, these variables need to be set, else lag issues might come in play.
Your CPU is rather high too but not an issue yet, keep an eye out for the CPU usage

The big problem is the FPS, it's way too low! It should be atleast 66 to keep you server from dropping in tickrate.
What is fps_max set to?
You might need to recompile linux in 1000Hz in order to get higher fps.

Well the server is hosted @ layeredtech, should I lower the slots to 40 on my server and then higher the tickrate to 100?

It's 92 users actually, 2900 is the uptime Toungue
still rebout every day yes,
but that's not the problem we need the FPS to be higher!
I explained how to do that in my post above. (I'm not a linux guy so don't ask me how to recompile stuff etc)

r0k, limiting the server to 40 players won't help cause the stats window shows the FPS is 15.. which is way too low for even a 33 tickrate server, the FPS must AT ALL TIMES be higher than the tickrate.
So if you would set 100 tick you'd need a constant FPS above 100.

Also on a side note, never run 100 tick servers with more than 18 players.

Ive been working on recompiling and I have come to find that all my fedora boxes were allready on 1000HZ. Were as my centOS boxes were on 250 and needed to be recompiled. Not sure though because I have fed 5 and he has fed 4 so fed 4 might only be 250HZ. Doesnt zombie mod typicly use more resources than a base install?

every plugin you install uses more resources, but I don't think zombiemod will use alot more.
I know the creator and I don't think he's one of those crap coders with leaks all over the place.
It should run pretty slick

Ok, its going from 500 FPS which is great it was 250 before, to 16 to 67 to 100 to 330 to 502 and all over the place.

CPU in stats says 0.00, I have a recompiled 1000 HZ Kernel with HT Disabled, and I dont know whats going wrong.

my server still hiccups around 29 people, please help Sad

Ok fixed it, Turning back on HT has no more lag Smile but i get about 27 constant fps for some maps and 100-200 on others. Thanks guys!

88% cpu load is much too high. I doubt a singlecore P4 can hold more than 32 players at the same time (1 server). Did you disable HT on the P4 ?

Hello,

You may want to run a tweaked kernel for your server.

Where can I find a tweaked kernel to test on my system?
