HI i am new to this, and I was just wondering what is the diffrence of making a server on just Dedicated server on steam and this? does this server shuts down when your comp is off?

well its all the SRCDS, Source Dedicated Server. Only you ahve a few different versions of it:
-standalone
-steam

standalone can be used in GUI mode or in Console mode.
we recommend the standalone version in Console mode, it runs best, uses least resources and is much more configurable than the others.

Servers always shut down when the computer is off. How do you think it would be able to keep running? Big Grin

Also I understand you're running it from steam now. It's not recommended to run the server at the same machine as you play
