MountFilesystem( 241 ) failed
#1
I am consistantly getting this error:

MountFilesystem( 241 ) failed: SteamMountFilesystem(1956,241,0x13dfc74=,0x13d4fd74) failed with error 5: No Steam Content Servers are available

I have tried many many times and still get that error. I have not changed my firewall settings and it worked before the patch. I also verified my cache integrity.

try running the update tool with "-verify_all"

I used to know something that caused this error, but i can't remember now.

Are you running any plugins on the server? whats the cmd line to start the server, and what OS? plus anything else you may think is relavent, basically you CAN'T give too much info on this.

I will try the -verify_all thing.

I am running Windows XP. I use the mani admin plugin. I don't use any special command line options to start the server, and I start it from steam. Hmm... I can't think of anything else that would be relevant. The firewall doesn't block steam.

I set the windows data execution prevention settings to allow all of the binaries in the steam directory and sub-directories.

I am not sure where to use the -verify_all parm. I added it to the launch options, but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Did you get it from steam itself? or the hldsupdatetool?
if you are not using the hldsupdatetool and you used the steamGUI
This is what I would do:

back up your configs and addon folder. remove the content from within steam, grab the hldsupdatetool from http://steampowered.com/index.php?area=getsteamnow

create c:\srcds

Now, i've never done this in windows but i assume it'll be the same as linux, run hldsupdatetool from the cmd.exe (start button -> run cmd.exe click run) with the following options:
Code:
hldsupdatetool.exe -command update -game "counter-strike source" -dir c:\srcds -verify_all

wait the time it takes to download the server replace your server.cfg into cstrike/cfg replace the addons folder, and try iy again.

I know this isn't the practical solution, but reading themaillist this is what Alfred Reynolds who does indeed work for valve said( not the exact words, but he said to use the hldsupdatetool), you can find this here. http://www.mail-archive.com/hlds@list.valvesoftware.com/msg17231.html

yea, -verify_all doesn't mean anything with steam. Sorry I thought you were using the stand alone version. Well download that as cryotek said, and it should work fine. Seems theres always randomly probly with the steam version of SRCDS.

Well your raising quite an old thread and generally this is a no no. I'd say try deleting and redownloading Steam and see if that fixes it for you.
