Right, so I have a slight problem, and I think it's pretty bad, I searched but I didn't find much to much help so please forgive me (which I'm sure it has been many times before). It's running Mani Admin Plugin, Events Scripts, ES Tools, and Zombie Mod.
I have a Redhat Linux Server, with 2x Intel Xeon 2.8GHz CPU's with HT, 2GB of ram and some 7200RPM HDD on a 1 gigabit connection. The FPS on the server is really jumpy, the max the server gets is 50, and it dips down to around 8 with ~30 players and gets really laggy as far as ping goes (network lag caused by CPU load?). The Linux Kernal is running at the default Hz as far as I know. What are the recommended settings I run the server at? (maxfps and so on).
Any help will truely be appriciated.

You will have to rebuild the kernel to 1000Hz and run pingbooster. Also fps_max on 600 or something around that value.

I cant rebuild the Linux kernal as I do not have root access (unless it isn't needed). I set fps_max to 600 on the server and it seems to be running a little better, and out of curiosity, how much more CPU usage does pingbooster use?
Thanks.

Hmm, didn't i read somewhere that HT can actually hurt performance in srcds?

Yeh so I've heard, you might want to check if your CPU % isnt locked at some value, if it does you have to disable HT. This doesn't always happen tho but it's good to check, it might be your problem.
Also pingbooster uses some but its not noticable at all

Sorry for the delayed replies.
I'm not sure if I can disable HT. I ran pingbooster and all it did was raise my ping from a normal 40-50 to 50-60 with only 2 players in the server (I used -pingboost 1). I'll see what I can do about changing the Hz and disabling HT.
Thanks for your help.

HT is disabled in the BIOS
If you're running a remotly hosted dedicated server and you don't have KVMoIP access then you'll need to talk to your host about disabling it to see if you gain an improvment.
Default for the kenrel frequency is 100Hz and 1000Hz is recommended and yes you need root, ask your hosting company if they can recompile it to 1000Hz for you, if they won't time to find a new host.
and for pingboost thats what it'll do, it'll boost your ping but for the effect that it'll run the server a bit smoother.
