Been chewing over whether I should drop the cash on a portable cement mixer for my side gigs. Lately I’ve been picking up more smallish construction jobs - patios, shed bases, stuff for friends and neighbors. Hand-mixing concrete is getting old real fast and I’m feeling it in my back. Thing is, not sure if a mixer makes sense for this scale, or if it’s just more gear taking up space. Is it a lifesaver or overkill? Would love to hear from anyone who’s been in my shoes or has any brand/model tips for 2026, especially if you work solo a lot!
