What Should Patients Know Before Choosing Immune Therapies for Cancer?
#1
I have been reading more about Immune therapies for cancer and trying to understand how effective they really are compared to traditional treatments like chemotherapy or radiation. From what I gather, these therapies work by helping the immune system recognize and attack cancer cells, which sounds promising, but I am unsure how consistent the results are across different types of cancer.

Has anyone here or someone close to you gone through Immune therapies for cancer? What was the experience like in terms of side effects, cost, and overall effectiveness? I have seen some discussions saying the response can vary a lot depending on the patient and the stage of cancer, which makes the decision even more complicated.

Another thing I am trying to understand is eligibility. Are these treatments widely available, or only recommended in specific cases? Do doctors usually suggest Immune therapies for cancer as a first option, or only after other treatments have not worked?

I am also curious about long term outcomes. Are patients able to maintain remission longer compared to other treatments?
