TexMex healthy food recipes
#1
My aunt is half mexican/half texan. She likes to cook up some mean chili
Its really good and only takes 15 minutes to prepare. She uses a lot of things in it including black pepper, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, chili powder, and beef broth
She also adds in tomato paste and flour and butter. Comes out really tasty
the problem is it does a number on my stomach
is there solution to eating this type of food which I really enjoy where it doesn't upset my stomach.? Do you have a more stomach safe recipe?

You could try skipping the flour roux, use leaner beef or turkey, and cut back on chili powder while keeping the oregano and garlic. Letting it simmer longer helps flavor without extra spice. I started doing lighter meal prep at home after reading threads like https://www.reddit.com/r/mealprep/comments/1p5evjd/today_i_found_out_frive_has_a_hygiene_rating_of_1/ and it pushed me to tweak recipes so they still hit but feel way easier on the gut.
