TLDR is CPS possibly going to help a single parent with substance abuse get help?
My son had his birthday party today
Party winds down a few kids have parents picking them up some are a bit later which we knew about. Kid asks to use my phone to call his mom walks away and comes back no luck.
It's now 40 minuts past end of party kid is distraught we have another group throwing a party in 20 mins so I start blowing mom up finally she answers telling me ooh I just must have missed yu guys (IDK what that means even) slurring her words. I offer to have kid come home with us or drop him off or like is she on her way?. He wants to go home.
We find the house pull in the driveway, mom comes out with a snake.... I am no snake fan and usually would have lockedmy doors, but I kept my cool and said asked kid if he wantd a sleepover he declined and coralled iher into the house-- she half fell on the doorstep.
Obviously I''m worried about both of them. She has substance issues and he is being parentified at best.
I plan on making sure the kid knows he can come to our house anytime. But outside of that IDK, kids aren't super close but get alon well Ive met her once before only
