Non-admin adding bots
#1
I was wondering if there was a plugin of some sorts that lets players add or remove bots if there is no admin present

I did a bit of googling but that didn't turn up anything

Check out mattie's eventscripts boards. I'm pretty sure someone made a script with eventscripts that allows it. I would get a link, but the proxy server where I work doesn't let me go to mattie's site.

are you looking to have ALL players do this or just certain ones?

hmmm.....probably all at first and then if that works, maybe only players with a certain tag in their name like XYZ|username
so only players with XZY| could do it

well the easy way is if you let certain players do it. install mani, then add all the players you want to be able to do this to the admin list, either ip/steam id or whatever. then give them ONLY rcon menu command access (which is the "q" flag). in the rcon.cfg put in 2 commands add_bot and bot_kick and nothing else, unless you want them to do other stuff. note that when they do bot_kick, it kicks ALL the bots.

that sounds like the best & easiest way since i already have mani installed Wink

No idea if you already know this but,

to kick one or more bots you can lower the bot_quota variable to adjust to the desired amount of total bots ingame. If you add that to the RCON window you make sure not all bots will be kicked at once.

Don't bots leave if the server is full and a player joins?

Ok, i got everything working out by adding people to the admin list

but I'm not worrying persay about bots leaving, i was more thinking about if i'm not in the server, other people could add or remove a bot at their lesiure. Say if its 2 people vs 2 bots, if they wanted to add 2 bots to the other team so its 2v4 thats what i wanted it for

but i got it all working now using the adminlist feature
so ya

BE VERY CAREFUL.
I'm an eventscripts coder anyway have been for a long time, not the best but know it enough.

If you give power to everyone, everyone will spam bots etc and could cause your server and box problems, if you give it to a clan tag, users may change their tags to that tag to play.

yea i realized that & only gave the ability to add bots to a few certain people who play regularly (by adding them as admins on adminlist.txt & just limiting what they can do)
