Server Side FPS (is it worth it?)
#1
FYI: This relates to HLDS not SRCDS servers.

I saw that funservers used to offer 600+ serverside fps for their linux machines standard when ever you ordered. Now they only run them at 300 fps.

What do you guys run you server fps at for linux machines and how many instances do you run on a single box? Does server fps impact bandwidth that much / reduce lag that much that funservers would consider taking that option out of their standard features.

I was thinking of running servers from linux with constant 500 fps as a feature, would that be economical?

It seems to help overall perfromance, but very little in my opinion. IT does however suck resources from the box a lot more than a standard server, which on a business front isn't a good thing hence the need for higher prices.
