Hydros Flow Meters reading 0
#1
I just setup a new collective on a group of tanks - first time using the flow meters and they are all reading 0. I confirmed the flow direction on all the circuits and the flow rates should be more than sufficient (Varios 8 at 100% with flow meter 4 feet away from pump.

I have swapped sense ports multiple times and no change. The flow meters aren't reading anything other than 0.

Next steps / what am I missing?

Thanks,
Andrew

Hard to.believe three sensors may be bad. They're 1" sensors? First confirm direction of flow again. Then any chance you have another control with Sense ports other than the X4? Try temporarily moving over to the other control. See if sensor registers a value. Either way, power reset the X4 all the flow sensors are on. The Sense ports share a common 5V power source which may go off if overloaded then requirimg a power reset. If none of these actions resolve I'd be looking at the sensors themselves to see if the pump spit detritis into the sprocket preventing it from spinning.

I had a similar issue before, and switching to a higher-quality flow meter made a big difference. If you’re looking for an option that's reliable and accurate, you might want to check out https://www.kaijo-shibuya.com/ultrasonic-liquid-flow-meter/. These use ultrasonic tech to measure flow without any moving parts, so they’re less prone to failure or clogging, especially in setups with particles or debris in the water.
