How do you Dedicete DOD Server, just install Linux (without all the crap). Then you have a Server, just made for DOD... It's just like setting up CCS, but change the name of the game to DOD...

A question for you, are you new to linux?

You need Fedora.

Here is the link, and i hope you have a good ISP.

http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Distribution/Download

Once download, burn the ISOs on Media (depends what you download, CD or DVD). If you have a Torrent Client, use that to download them.

After you burn the Media, you can boot to Disc 1 (It should be bootable).

WARNING: Installing Linux may or may not Delete your Partitions of OS/Data (Exp: Windows). Please be sure to have a Dedicete Hard Drive for Linux!

Ok, do that for now... And hit us back!

You must update the game dod. And in the commandline use: -game dod instead of -game css

Wow Drocona, don't get to mad over there. Some people out there have no clue what Linux is or how to work it. And some people may need some help to get started!!! Beside he will be installing it him self... I just pointed him in the right direction.

ilan1990, If you have questions about Linux or your stuck somewhere. Go to here, no one will jump on your case about being a Newbie, or asking a simple question.

Unless I misread the original post, there's no indication he's looking for any help with installing a Linux distro or needs help with general Linux questions. He just wants to know how to get DOD:S running.

I'm not mad i'm just stumped lol.

normally you try first before asking. This question is the same as asking "How does C++ work" on a programming forum.
There are books, internet sites, newbie tutorials, everything.
It's really not that hard to figure it out yourself, I maybe learned 100 things myself of which maybe 2 I asked after 3 weeks failing with 100's of tutorials and guides.

We are here to help, not to make your server for you. I'm not getting paid right Smile

Sorry if I sound a bit rude, mad or whatever, didn't mean to make someone feel bad about it.
But please just use your head, it really isnt that hard

I agree with you drocona, the guy must at least download the tool and read the readme. Then search in google, and finally ask in the forum.

This is my learning process. =p

btw, you don't have to use fedora, you can use centos, debian, mandrake almost any of the distro's will do.

Yea you can, but for someone very new to Linux. You may want to use fedora, b/c of Drivers. Fedora seems to have better drivers than other Linux's..

Dont think so. Almost any distro is working fine now with drivers. The only thing that help using fedora is the installation that is so simple.
