need help downloading stand alone server

Hi i dont know how to get a stand alone server. i need u guys to tell me how to so i can help my clan

Just look at the top. Click the tutorials button. Its a step by step to download and run the srcds. You should also delete or move this post when your done. The tutorials section is to submit your knowledge pertaining to the SRCDS. This should have been posted in general or windows. FYI.

I seriously don't get some people.

Daily someone adds me to my MSN first thing he/she asks is "How do I run a SRCDS? I need it for teh clan!"

They didnt even bother searching on the internet or even TRY to get somewhere, these people just got it all wrong! If THEY need a clanserver THEY should get into it and TRY to make one, it's not our job to make YOUR server. You get that when you rent a server, those ppl get paid for it.

We just help with whatever trouble there is. That is trouble with SOME EFFORT trying to make it work yourself.

Just wanted to say that, cause I really don't like to help people that ask the most simple things which give like 100 results on google.

oh and BTW: You don't need us.. you need your brain and try yourself. I bet in 3 weeks you have it up and running....

You have a very compelling point. I remember I didnt ask "How do I download the server", like you, I figured it all out on my own. Except for the occasional folly, like rates. And atleast I posted it in the right section.

Yeah and right after you post it you find it all explained on that wiki thingy in the advanced tickrate page lol found through google.
