HLstatsX CPU usage

I am using HLstatsX to keep track of stats in my CS:S server. The problem is that when the players type rank in cs say the ranking takes a lot of time to show. I am running the server in a linux machine so I reniced the hlstats.pl process and this seems to relieve the problem at the cost of high cpu usage. Any other solutions? Another question is that I am using my hlstats to log data from another server. Is there a way to have two hlstats processes logging my server and the other server and still reporting the stats to the same webpage?
