Hi,
I'm running ubuntu 2.6.12-9-powerpc (not even sure if it's compatable with SRCDS), but when i do the following command;

Code:
chmod +x hldsupdatetool.bin && ./hldsupdatetool.bin

I get the following error;

Code:
bash: ./hldsupdatetool.bin: cannot execute binary file

Any help is appreciated Wink

i believe that you'll need to recompile for powerpc, and that would require the binaries from valve and i don't think they'll give that to you. even if they did give you the hldsupdatetool binaries you would also need to recompile all of srcds and since it's a moneymaker for them they won't give it out.

yeah, sorry that's what i'm trying to say. you might want to check if there's a way to turn on x86 compatibility for your powerpc install. that would the the only way i can think of.

Ok, well thanks for your help Smile, i'm glad I didnt spend years trying to work it out. I'll take a look at that thing anyway, I guess I'll just have to run it some other way.

I wonder how laggy it'd be on Virtual PC >_>. lol.

Cheers Smile

It will be laggy enough to even lose connection constantly.
I posted before about VMware. It is nice to see if you like Linux but that is ALL it can do.. It shares everything with your system specs so you will never get good pings and always have lag.
You are running an OS inside another OS
