No, you should not run hlds + srcds on same machines. It creates unstable fps and everything goes shit.

Ok. I will do that Like I said before
Anyways, I bought yesterday a quad core with a X3450 processor at 2.67ghz with 8gb ram. Thing is , when I was buying it, it said it was just 4 cores, but when I look at cpu info it has 8 siblings, so I guess its 8 cores @ ht? CPU consumption by srcds is normal for just a quad core, but when looking at core cpu% usage with "top", it shows 8 cores but consumptions for each server are around the same of when I rented a normal quad core, so im not sure if its good or bad and must be taken off or activated all the time. At the moment im running 3 srcds (10 slot each + srctv ) at fps_max 67 on one core, ived read here that you recomend 2 srcds at 24 slot each per core, so I guess I could set 4srcds of 10 slot on each core right? Or would it be too much? I need to do more testing but because fps are so low now, they hardly change with an extra server on the core. On the other hand, im going to get an other server for just hlds 1000fps servers, what do you recomend on their configuration? by newkernel and pingboost 2 or with def kernel and pb 3 with systicrate at 1050? or 1080? In my testing, 1080 makes 1000fps stable, but of course, they are rendering more but hl only shows 1000fps so its worst, but because sometimes people want to see constant 1000 I set the value to 1080 and thats fixed. How could I measure the number of servers of 1000fps when full (5vs5 only) per core? I mean from how much cpu%usage do server start to lose their "stability"? How much is the máx cpu% consumption you would have? Or should I just do it the slow way by filling servers and monitoring their fps?

It has 4 cores and 8 threads.

Got a call today from Dell offering me the Intel XEON E3-1270 3.40GHZ.
Thing is, im not sure how much of a difference will it make compared to my other one. And when I hosted 4 servers of 10 slot each on one core there was some issues on my X3450. When the servers are empty they hardly use any cpu but cs 1.6 pingboost 3 uses nearly the same amount of cpu when empty or full, I guess its because of the pb 3 but Im wondering if I could make it use less cpu.

CPU usage isn't true (this is Linux, right?). The cpu usage is in term much lower, but linux sorta lies about it, no idea why it does it tho. Its something that linux can't measure the cpu usage since its sampling every sec or something.
