following that logic gentoo should be very unstable. no, that is not the case. in fact I have a gentoo server running for 5 years without a single crash (which would cause serious trouble, as it is not easily accessible...). extreme optimizations (e.g. for low latency) sometimes tend to make the system unstable, but that does not depend on the distribution... in any case, if ubuntu is too close to the bleeding edge for you, you can always use debian. centos has quite often been reported to result in bad quality game servers...

in the end, use what ever you like. but don't come here and ask for help if your centos does not run the game servers well Toungue

I have decided to go with Windows till I learn more about Debian and Linux itself. If anyone would like to recommend any guides or tutorials of some sort, please feel free.
