Buying new server needs input on the hardware
#1
At the moment i have an server running pretty fine as match server but i need more power in the box since some plugins requires so much power.

Code:
ASUS P6T SE X58 S-1366
CHIEFTEC WH-01B-B-OP
CORSAIR HX 620W
DIMM DDR3 HYPERX 12GB 2000MHZ DDR3 NON-ECC CL9
INTEL CORE I7 975 EXTREME 3.33GHZ 8MB S-1366
NOCTUA NF-B9 SILENT CASE FAN 92MM x 2
NOCTUA NF-P12-1300 SILENT CASE FAN 120MM

Have a couple of questions to you gurus.
Is the power of Corsair 620W powersupply enough?
Speed of memory does it affect server performance?
How many slots can this box run, TFT2?
Should i wait for gulftown 6 qore cpu?

The PSU is enough

I have a Corsair VX450 that runs a Phenom II 965 server.

I wouldnt go for Core i7, choose Xeon E5500-series instead

Generally people say you can do 1 large (24+ Slots) TF2 server per core. I would think with that extra power you can also run at least 1 smaller non-TF2 server per core. Since the i7s have 4 cores, about 4 large TF2 servers and some change. HT takes a little pressure off, but no major differences as far as I know.

The big issues with all those servers if that the server NEEDS to be in a data center to support that much traffic.

You are talking about the connection speed and bandwidth i guess. I have fiber 100/100 at home so il think that will do the trick pretty ok.

Then about the memory. Should i put in 12GB or is less ok. And also the memory speed...?

Fiber-connections are getting more popular, and people are getting around 10/10 mbit speed, which is excellent for handling that traffic, but it's still best to have it in a datacenter, because the connection is much more professional

I have 95/95 almost all the time

How about my question of the ram and it´s speed?

Generally ram is not very important. 12GB of ram is fine. That's 3GB per core. You should be more then fine. People often go with faster HDDs before they worry about ram.
