Ok...me and my brother in law are going to buy a dell server tower...but we would like to know around how many CS 1.6 server we could possibly run on it before we buy it...we are looking to buy a server tower that could run at least 10-12 servers 24 slots @1000fps each...we want the servers to be really great...no lag...excelent reg...fast DL...so my question is how many servers do you think I could run on this server tower-the $699 one(on the right) http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/server-poweredge-t310?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04

any help and ideas would be greatly appreciated guys...and if you could give me a link to another dell server tower(under $850) that would be better than the one im looking at for what im trying to do with it please post me a link...

Thanks in advance guys...I know you guys can help me with this question Smile

Edit: sorry guys...I think I put this in the wrong section Sad...sorry!!!!

For under $850, you can probably build a tower with 8 cores and 8-12gb of RAM. Also, do you plan on colocating this? Or are you planning on running it from home. Cause these servers might take up a lot of bandwidth at 1000fps.

thanks for your response beaver...yes we plan to run the server tower from home...we will not be using the tower to play on as well...just to run the servers...someone else mentioned something about the bandwidth...he is talking with many ISP's about their services and bandwidth options...we may have to pay a fee to increase the bandwidth in our area to meet the needs of the servers...we know that we may not get the servers to run @1000fps but we would like to get all the servers above 600fps...but before we buy the server tower we needed some help calculating about how many servers we could run on that dell box that I posted the link in first post...we are planning on hosting a few servers for ourselves and renting out the remaining...but again we need help finding out about how many servers we can run on that box so we can calculate how much money we can make on a single box...we already have a few renters but the servers my brother in law is running now are on personal pc's that he doesnt use...only for dedicated servers right now....those are good but we would like to make a buisiness out of it...if you can tell me about how many servers I could get out of the box it would be very helpfull....

Thanks again!!!!

You'll want to notify your ISP regarding your intentions as well. Most ISP's don't allow their user's to host files or server's on their home network.

You'll not only want to increase you're overall bandwidth, but also increase you're upload speed. You may want to look into getting a business line, as most residential network's, have a moderately good Download rate, but the upload rate is what lacks. Upload is one of your primary concerns here.

Build your own, it will be cheaper than dell. + you didn't post a valid URL.

And the only way to actually know is to try, different servers handle things differently...
