I just wonder what rates i should have with this:
AMD 64 3200+
1024 mb ram
4mbit down and 400kb upload
I have thought of using it as an 2on2 server. Because 10 slots would be too laggy.
The rates i have now is:
rcon sv_maxrate 4500
rcon sv_minrate 3000
rcon sv_maxupdaterate 20
rcon sv_minupdaterate 15
rcon sv_fpsmax 300
rcon sv_maxunlag 1
rcon sv_unlag 1
And, these rates i have put on to a server cfg and just enter exec Core, but will they work then or do i have to put it in before?

Whoa why do you have rcon commands? Isnt it running via a CFG stored on the server?

Will the server be better then?
And what about the server-configs i load from my computer that has muuuch higher rates. If i`m gonna load my clanbase config, will the rates then be changed?
And is there some way to check what rates i have on my server if i`m not sure that the autoexec doesn`t work?

the autoexec will always work aslong as it is in the cfg folder
it will be ran on server start up, but you can rcon to rerun your rates like this:
rcon exec server_rates.cfg
that will run that cfg file on the server

sv_minrate 3000
sv_maxupdaterate 10
sv_minupdaterate 10
fps_max 600
sv_maxunlag 1
sv_unlag 1
With a 256kb upload, but i am getting 512kb soon.

I run the server on a computer and then plays on a another computer on wireless net, and i often get a very high choke and if i only have 1 person in he has over 100 ping and lags like hell.
Maybe its my line, but i have 200kb on almost all test so i dont understand why it should lagg so much if i only have 1 or 2 persons on my server?
Im looking forward to getting 512kb within a month.=)

OK, i have found rates that are good, but i think there is high choke on the server , and thats why people lag.
I had 4 persons in with 50-80 latency but they still lagg a bit. Is it becuase of the choke, and how can i fix it?

most of the time, choke is a clients problem. if you have a plugin like mani-admin plugin, you can see what rates the players are using.
most of the time I see players complaining about lag, but others are fine, I check their rates and they're using rates that are too high.

I have heard about a plugin that will adjust clients rates to match the server. Is this possible and if so how do I go about installing this on our server?

There are multiple plugins for this yes, but these plugins are hated by alot of players (including myself) because those settings are CLIENT settings. NOT to be changed by anyone else.
Whats the point of configuring your game if the next server throws all yours in the dumpster and sets them according to the server config??
Exception: When people use low rates to get their fake ping real low (which is useless in my eyes) I think they should be changed to atleast 15 instead of 10.
