How many slots could this run?

Looking at ordering a new dedicated server spec below:

Intel Nehalem Xeon W3520 2.66Ghz
6GB DDR3
500GB Sata-II

I was woundering how many player slots this could run? games supported would be hl/hl2 based

That should be the same as of a Core i7.
I would suggest at most 250slots.

I don't know the Intel Nehalem Xeon processor.

But to find out yourself, start up a Counter-Strike: Source server. And then fill it with bots intill you have around 80% usage. Then that amount is the amount you can have.

Or I'd guess around 60-70

um.. ok quite a big difference between 60-70 then 250 but i know i wont know till i have tested it myself!

Realchamp means per core. I would say around 60 slots, 100 tick per core for CSS.

Remember bots use near double the resources compared to real players.
