You find the function in your router.

I think Steam did something so no new servers would be able to seen in the Master List.
There has been several posts about this. Well I will go check Steam Forums and see if there's an answer. realchamp Wrote:I think Steam did something so no new servers would be able to seen in the Master List. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=489240 "Some routers offer a feature called DMZ. Using it is NOT a solution! It's a dangerous workaround. See the section about why DMZ is not a solution below for more details." -Steam Forums Oh. I forgot, When my server starts, it says this -------------------------------------------------- Could not establish connection to Steam servers. ------------------------------------------------ I live in Virginia, USA and when I type in sv_region -------------------------------- "sv_region" = "0" ( def. "-1" ) --------------------------------

If you use DMZ, it is recommended that you have a good firewall installed on your computer.
pengy Wrote:If you use DMZ, it is recommended that you have a good firewall installed on your computer. but then again, i have to disable my firewall and then the server won't be on the list. and i tried the DMZ, it didnt show on the master server list either. By the way, can i see my own server on the server list?

Also, Steam Troubleshooting said this:
------------------------------------------------------------------ "Required Ports for Steam Your network must be configured to allow Steam access to the following ports: Steam Client UDP 27000 to 27020 inclusive TCP 27020 to 27050 inclusive Dedicated or Listen Servers TCP 27015 (SRCDS Rcon port) " ------------------------------------------------------------------- Do i have to port forward those ports?
i told you already, you can not open all the required ports becuase your router cant handle it. you MUST use dmz if you want this to work. also you should use a firewall, at least the built in windows one. all you have to do is set those ports to be allowed.
EDIT if your friends can connect then its working just set your location in your server.cfg to world (225 or -1 i think) and it should be seen on the list. assmunk Wrote:i told you already, you can not open all the required ports becuase your router cant handle it. you MUST use dmz if you want this to work. also you should use a firewall, at least the built in windows one. all you have to do is set those ports to be allowed. K, I got it. When I start the server, it said this: --------------------------------------- Connection to Steam servers successful. VAC secure mode is activated. --------------------------------------- Does this means my server is on the master server list? And when I type in "sv_region" the console said this ------------------------------ ] sv_region "sv_region" = "255" ( def. "-1" ) ------------------------------ It said that def. -1 "-1: Do not list server (also occurs when you do not set a value!) " -Steam Forum Does that mean even though it said 255 (world), it's still saying -1?

I havnt found any other solutions yet anyway

DMZ is not recommended and shouldn't be used as said before. The better solution would be to forward the ports on your router.

oh ok
do you have any way i can make the server show on the master list while online? Beaverbeliever Wrote:DMZ is not recommended and shouldn't be used as said before.
