SRCDS Steam group


srcds wont stop running - HELP!!! - SOLVED.

I am in the middle of setting up a 2nd server on my system, and somehow i have 2 instances of srcds running all the time, and they will not DIE! they always restart even if i kill -9 them - the only way they stop is if i reboot the server - not cool Sad

(also i have not uses linux (debian) in years - be gental)



How do i stop them?!?

Kill both the bin process and the actual process, there are 2 of them running if you run it from a script

kill srcds_run, instead of the srcds_i486/i686/amd process. srcds_run will restart the server everytime it dies.

i didnt see that process; thx <-- NOOB

as it turns out es_tools was freaking out causing a crash and for reasons unknown when the server auto-restarts (due to crash) i would end up with muliple instances of srcds - got it all fixed up.

it does not show up in top usually, as it does not take any/much cpu time ^^
