It's the same place where you set the other stuff when you start up SRCDS.

What game are you hosting?

Also make sure your client has these rates:
Code:
cl_updaterate 100
cl_cmdrate 100
rate 25000

Okay, since this is a Counter-Strike: Source problem, I will move this thread to Windows srcds /

The -tickrate command must go in your startup line: C:/srcds/srcds.exe -console -game cstrike -tickrate 100 +map de_dust2

The other commands, cl_updaterate 100, cl_cmdrate 100 and rate 25000 MUST be entered in your client console!

i have installed steam in C/programfiles/valve/steam/steamapps/accountname/source dedicated server/srcds

that is the only SRCDS file on my computer :/ is it the one? when i did what you said, i got steam.dll was not found Sad and now it doest start even after i removed it :/

thx for the help Smile

(edit) it does start, but only from the steam tool list. not from the C/programfiles/valve/steam/steamapps/accountname/source dedicated server/srcds exe file

Oh... You're running the Steam-version of it... It's not a good idea, follow this tutorial to install the console version!

this is what i get when i typ in cl_updaterate (Only no number)
"cl_updaterate" = "60" ( def. "20" )
** NOTE: The real value is 100.000 but the server has temporarily restricted it to 60.000 **
archive
- Number of packets per second of updates you are requesting from the server

might help you Smile

Use these on the server:
Code:
sv_updaterate 100
sv_cmdrate 100

Since now your server doesn't startup/work, it's because you are using the Steam Dedicated Server Tool. Change to SRCDS, by using the guide above, posted by Doggie52.

okey i have installed it and it works but i dont think it is 100tick, when i go onto the server its 63ish tick

when i type cl_updaterate in the SRCDS it says
"cl_updaterate" = "30" ( def. "20" )
** NOTE: The real value is 20.000 but the server has temporarily restricted it to 30.000 **
archive
- Number of packets per second of updates you are requesting from the server

even after i have typed cl_updaterate 100 in the srcds. thx for the help
