Multiple Servers and 1 IP?
#1
Right now I have a bunch of "older" computers sitting around. I have a computer with an assigned IP. Is it possible to have this one computer forward 2-3 different ports to each server so that I can have 4-5 boxes each running 1 server?

I have found plenty of how-to's for running multiple instances, or running 2 servers with 2 different IPs.

I just want confirmation on what I should change or forward for it to work properly. I know the -port in the command line will set the incoming port to the server, but I was not sure if that would work if I only forwarded that one port.

Thanks for the input.

I'm a little confused as to what you are asking? Do you want to know if one server is able to run multiple SRCDS instances or multiple servers run a single SRCDS instance? The first is fine however the second is impossible. Concerning the port question, just make sure to forward the port that you assign to SRCDS.

I was saying, I want to run multiple instances, across multiple boxes, with only 1 ip going to the main box/router.

As in:

Code:
.                   / Box 1 (CSS)
(Router/Box/Switch)---Box 2 (TF2)
.                   \ Box 3 (L4D)

Router has say an external IP of 555.555.555.555 and each box has an internal IP 192.168.0.1 - .2 - .3.

Do I just need to assign each internal IP a different port like 27015, 27016, and 27017, then port forward just those ports and it should work?

Thanks,
Oen

it will work just fine as long as your router forwards ports to the correct box's
