Losing my mind (L4D server insanity)
#1
I've been trying to get my L4D server to work for about a week now. I'm willing to do pretty much anything including replacing the router to get this thing working. At the moment I get to this:

28.9 fps 0/14 on map l4d_hospital01_apartment
#Console initialized.
#Game.dll loaded for "L4D - Normal"
Server is hibernating
ConVarRef test_progression_loop doesn't point to an existing ConVar
Game supporting (2) split screen players
maxplayers set to 14
Unknown command "r_decal_cullsize"
Unknown command "mat_bloom_scalefactor_scalar"

Sending heartbeat to master server...
Connection to Steam servers successful.
VAC secure mode is activated.

This was achieved following the steps in this guide:

http://www.blog.last-save.com/2008/11/left-4-dead-dedicated-server-setup/

Using this .cfg

// server name
hostname "Vul"

// search key
// sv_search_key xxxxxxxxxxxx

// rcon passsword
rcon_password xxxxxxxxx

sv_alltalk 0
sv_pausable 0
sv_consistency 1
sv_voiceenable 1

// server logging
log off
sv_logbans 0
sv_logecho 1
sv_logfile 1
sv_log_onefile 0

// operation
sv_lan 0
sv_region 2

The shortcut I use to start my server reads:

C:\srcds\l4d\srcds.exe -console -game left4dead +ip 192.168.1.5 +hostport 27015 +map l4d_hospital01_apartment.bsp

My server does not show up on the Master list (despite what it says) when I look at the list with openserverbrowser in the L4D in game console. Is there anything I'm missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well normally you cant see the server in the master list if you are on the same connection as it

My friend on the other side of town can't either. Is there a way to be able to see it/play on it?

I'd really like some help. I'm committed to getting this thing working I'm just not sure what is wrong. My router at the moment is the standard actiontec mi424wr that Verizon supplies you. I am set up to be able to replace this easily and I'm 100% willing to if that is what is needed.
